Hyundai gives the Venue a Limited Edition
Launched in South Africa in December 2019, the Hyundai Venue is Hyundai’s most affordable SUV to date and it is aimed at urban adventurers with a taste for a savvy, trendy design that stands apart, as well as offering a remarkable driving experience.
Fast forward to July 2019, Hyundai has revealed a limited edition of the Venue which will be limited to 500 units.
So what makes it a limited edition?
Well, only 500 Units will be made available and you will be able to tell it apart from the other Venue's by the two-tone exterior colour scheme (blue body colour with a white roof). The white roof and dark blue body panels add an extra dimension and are complemented by the striking 16-inch alloy wheels as standard equipment.
Its impressive aerodynamics visualized by the rear shark-fin spoiler and rear fascia asymmetric block help improve efficiency while maintaining its unique style.
Interior
The Limited Edition Venue will also have an interior which sets itself apart from the others, the interior which has a light beige colour theme complemented by denim and leather cloth seats will only be available in the Limited edition thus making it more.. limited.
The Limited Edition’s infotainment system features an 8-inch display audio touchscreen system, which also serves as a rearview monitor when backing up the car. The 8-inch display includes both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the most commonly used smartphone functions, including app-based navigation, streaming audio and voice-controlled search capabilities.
Consumers will appreciate convenience features such as Dual USB ports, a 3,5-inch TFT driver’s instrument cluster display to illustrate useful information, a rearview camera and Bluetooth hands-free phone operation.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel feels comfortable and luxurious and is fitted with audio controls and cruise control buttons. Glovebox cooling and rear air condition ventilation ducts count among the Limited Edition’s standard luxury features.
Engine and drivetrain
The Venue Limited Edition comes with a three-cylinder turbocharged Kappa 1.0 T-GDI engine which delivers 88 kW around 6 000 rpm and reaches a maximum torque of 172 nm in a range from 1 500 to 4 000 r/min. The Fuel consumption is also very impressive with claimed figures of under 7l/100km.
The Fluid variants will have a 6-speed manual transmission as well as a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as an option while the top-of-range Limited Edition Glide variant only uses the DCT transmission.
Verdict
The small sports utility vehicle (SUV) segment is a very tightly contested segment and the Hyundai Venue has been doing well since its debut in 2019. I think people will definitely snatch the 500 units which are on offer, the 7-year/200 000 km warranty is also a way for Hyundai to showcase just how reliable their offerings are.
