Exterior:
At first glance, the CLE Cabriolet embodies Mercedes-Benz’s design philosophy of Sensual Purity. Borrowing the sporty essence of the CLE Coupé, the Cabriolet adds its unique personality through a classic fabric acoustic soft top. Available in black, red, or grey, the soft top is designed for practicality, opening or closing in just 20 seconds at speeds of up to 60 km/h. This electric operation ensures silent functionality, while a powered roller divider automatically optimizes luggage space.

Upfront there's the A-Shaped radiator grille with Mercedes Benz patterns, digital lights, powerdomes on the bonnet to give it an aggressive feel, two part taillights and it comes standard with 19-inc light allow wheels but you can option big 20-inch light alloys.

Interior:
Inside, the CLE Cabriolet elevates comfort with its advanced AIRCAP® wind deflector and AIRSCARF® headroom heating systems, making open-air driving enjoyable even on cooler days. The multi-layer soft top’s insulation provides excellent thermal comfort, minimizing noise and ensuring a serene cabin experience.

Step into the CLE Cabriolet, and you’ll be greeted by a visually striking dual-screen setup: a freestanding 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch central touchscreen display. The latter can tilt electrically to prevent glare when the top is down, enhancing usability and is powered by the third-generation MBUX operating system.

Ambient lighting wraps around the cabin, while premium materials like man-made nappa leather and chrome trim create a sophisticated feel. The seats, available in a variety of colors and finishes, reflect infrared rays to stay cool in direct sunlight.

Adding to the sensory experience is the optional Burmester® 3D surround sound system, which features integrated speakers in the headrests, delivering immersive audio with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio technology.

Space:
As the largest convertible in the mid-size segment, the CLE Cabriolet offers ample space for four adults. With extended legroom and enhanced shoulder and elbow room compared to the outgoing C-Class Cabriolet, long-distance drives are a breeze. The 385-liter boot (295 liters with the roof down) provides practicality, while the 60:40 split rear seats add versatility for larger cargo.

Engine:
The CLE Cabriolet is offered in two variants: the CLE 200 and the CLE 300 4MATIC. Both feature 2.0-liter mild-hybrid engines with an integrated starter-generator for an additional 17 kW/205Nm boost. The CLE 200 delivers 150 kW and 320 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, while the CLE 300 4MATIC ups the ante with 190 kW, 400 Nm, and a 6.6-second 0-100 km/h time. 0-100 km/h times should be irrelevant in this case because why speed in a drop top? As dynamic as the car is, it's a perfect cruiser.

The car's chassis strikes a balance between dynamic handling and long-distance comfort, aided by a comfort suspension lowered by 15 mm. For those seeking a more personalized driving experience, the optional DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension offers adjustable damping for tailored ride quality.
We believe it has been priced very competitively from R1 515 350 for the CLE 200 and R1 573 651 for the CLE 300 4Matic. All pricing includes a 5 year/100 000km Service Plan and Maintenance Plan.
It is an all round great car that definitely looks the part. We cannot wait to spend more time with it and provide an in depth review of just how practical a droptop is for everyday use.
