The vehicles feature the world’s most powerful 2.0- litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine manufactured for series production.
Exterior
The Mercedes-AMG 45 S range visual cues include an AMG-specific radiator grille, wider front wings with flared wheel arches to create space for the wider front axle, and a front apron featuring a “jet-wing” design. Wider AMG side skirts visually lower it, while the rearview is characterised by two pairs of round 90mm-diameter tailpipes with internal fluting and AMG lettering.
The S-models come standard with 19-inch light-alloy wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design - with a width of 8.5 inches for the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ and 9 inches for the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+.
Interior
The Mercedes-AMG 45 S range is also class-leading in terms of its interior design. There are various AMG display styles for the instrument cluster to choose from, whether it is for daily driving, sport driving or track driving the AMG displays are all a touch away.

The MBUX(Mercedes Benz User Experience system) also features as standard in the range, thus creating a closer connection between the vehicle, driver and passengers. Voice controls are also available onboard and it is activated by saying "Hey Mercedes".
Engine and Transmission
The newly developed 2.0- litre engine which is mated to an eight-speed DCT reaches a peak of up 310kW and 500Nm in each AMG S model resulting in a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 3.9 seconds for the A45 S 4MATIC+ Hatch and 4.0 seconds for the CLA 45 S 4MATIC+.
Drivers can choose from six AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport +, Individual and RACE as a standard. This allows a widespread of vehicle characteristics, from comfortable to dynamic while Drift mode, as a standard, included in the optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, makes power sliding possible.
