New Nissan Patrol Arrives in South Africa
First developed in 1951, the Nissan Patrol has a long history and it has landed in South Africa a year before its big 70th birthday next year. The luxurious 4x4 arrives in South Africa with enhanced luxury tech features in addition to the striking new design.

Exterior
The new Nissan Patrol has been given the V-motion grille along with some sleek boomerang-shaped LED headlights, the revised grille highlights the Patrol's strong, angular front. The Organic C-Signature LED lights make the sleek design standout.
At the rear, new taillights also sport the boomerang shape and are integrated along with a large chrome nameplate and sequential rear turn indicators, which have been added for the first time on a Nissan vehicle.
The Patrol also receives machine-cut 18-inch alloy wheels which add a formidable presence to the huge 4x4.
Interior
Inside the Nissan Patrol, you will find an 8-inch colour touch information screen, multi-screen DVD entertainment system with an 8-inch rear-seat entertainment, 13-speaker Bose premium sound system as well as independent wireless headphones and remote-enabled passenger vehicle infotainment.
New diamond-stitch quilted leather seats with added padding provide a luxurious feel, as does the new hand-stitched steering wheel. In addition, climate control and powered lumbar support are available for the front seats.
This allows all passengers to enjoy the ride.
Power
There is apparently no substitute for power and torque, the Nissan Patrol has a 5.6L V8 engine which produces 298kW of power and 560nm of torque. This allows the Nissan Patrol to dominate any terrain, on or offroad because of the Intelligent 4x4 system.
You are also able to switch between the four drive modes at the press of a button.
There is also an improved suspension and vibration reduction thus ensuring a more comfortable ride for occupants.
Safety and Technology
The new Patrol comes with Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection and the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system that warns the driver of risks that lie beyond the driver's forward field of vision. The advanced radar system does not only sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also that of a vehicle travelling in front of the preceding one.
Also included is the Standard Intelligent Cruise Control and Intelligent Driver Alert, which analyses the driver steering behaviour to signal and alert if signs of drowsiness or inattention are detected.
Responsive braking is provided by a 4-wheel disc brake system with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. Also standard is 4-wheel limited-slip diff (LSD) and a Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system, which automatically prevents the vehicle from sliding sideways on slippery road surfaces when changing lanes or negotiating a curve. Steering is provided by an engine-speed-sensitive power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering system.
