First unveiled globally in India last month, this compact SUV has already won over 150,000 buyers worldwide since its 2020 debut.

Since its local introduction in 2021, the Magnite has been a game-changer in the compact SUV segment, selling an impressive 26,000 units in South Africa. Now, the new Magnite builds on this legacy with bolder styling, upgraded interior technology, and a focus on safety. Key features include:

- LED lights front and rear

- Configurable TFT driver display

- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

- Adjustable four-color ambient lighting

The cabin enhancements cater to urban drivers and tech-savvy users, with standout options like remote engine start and walkaway lock and approach unlock functionality.

Safety
Nissan prioritizes safety in the new Magnite. All variants come equipped with six airbags, high-tensile steel for structural integrity, and a suite of features such as Vehicle Dynamic Control and Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensors. An auto-dimming rearview mirror further enhances visibility and convenience.

Performance:
The new Magnite offers two engine options, both 1.0-litre three-cylinder units—one naturally aspirated and the other turbocharged:

1. Naturally Aspirated (BR10)

- 53 kW and 96 Nm

- 5.9L/100km fuel consumption

2. Turbocharged (HR10)

- 74 kW and 152 Nm

- 5.27L/100km fuel consumption

Paired with manual, automated manual (AMT), or continuously variable transmission (CVT) options, the Magnite ensures responsive performance and fuel efficiency. Its suspension system, featuring Macpherson struts and anti-roll bars, offers a smooth and stable ride, even on uneven terrains.

Compact yet spacious, the Magnite accommodates five passengers comfortably, making it ideal for urban mobility. The standout Around View Monitor provides a bird’s-eye view from four cameras, simplifying parking in tight spaces. Additional conveniences include a cooled glovebox and an onboard air ionizer for improved cabin air quality.

Grade Walk and Pricing:
The Magnite comes in three trims—Visia, Acenta, and Acenta Plus, each loaded with competitive features:

- Visia: Essential safety features, manual air conditioning, and 16" steel wheels.

- Acenta: 8" touchscreen infotainment, keyless start/stop, and LED lighting.

Here’s the starting price lineup:

The new Nissan Magnite cements its position as a vital pillar of Nissan’s mid-term business plan, offering customers an ideal combination of value, safety, and technology. As Nissan Africa President Jordi Vila aptly puts it, “The new Magnite is a major milestone in Nissan Africa’s product strategy, designed to resonate with existing fans and win over a whole new generation.”
