Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) has introduced a refreshed Hilux Raider featuring innovative 48V mild hybrid technology, exclusively available in select Hilux and Fortuner models. This advancement aligns with Toyota's commitment to diverse eco-friendly powertrain options, aiming for carbon neutrality.
The 48V system integrates a motor generator, 48-volt battery, and DC/DC converter with the reliable 2.8-litre GD-6 turbo-diesel engine and six-speed automatic transmission, enhancing fuel economy and off-road capabilities. This technology improves fuel consumption by approximately 10% and offers a smoother driving experience through a seamless stop-start system.
The updated Hilux Raider boasts a striking new design with a refreshed front bumper, honeycomb mesh grille, and redesigned fog lamp bezels.
